Designing contracts for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation

    Description
This report provides an introduction to the effect that deforestation and forest degradation has on the environment and climate change. Reducing these damaging activities has been highlighted as an achievable objective for improving the environment. This report proposes a mechanism for reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation (REDD), which it argues is a cost effective climate change mitigation mechanism. It goes on to describe how this model might work in practice and any potential challenges there might be. This report was published in 2013.
