    The potential development of mega urban economies in three South East Asian locations - Bangkok, Jakarta and the Singapore – Iskander Development Region (IDR) (South Johor) - is discussed. The gains from closer economic integration and the issues to be settled before this could occur are examined. Lessons are drawn from the fusing of the economies of Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta in China’s Guangdong Province.
