   Cleaner hearths, better homes: new stoves for India and the developing world

   Description

   In this book, case studies from six Indian states - Maharashtra, Haryana, Karnataka, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal - and from other stove programmes are used to draw out lessons from India’s best improved biomass stove programmes. Suggestions are made for policies and practical ways to promote the use of cleaner burning, energy efficient and affordable stoves, thereby reducing indoor air pollution. The book, publication no.68279, was published for The World Bank by Oxford University Press, New Delhi, in 2012.
